Sydney Western Suburbs still offers the family the possibility of the Australian Dream of owning a quarter acre block. A place for the kids to play cricket or other sport in the back yard, and for the family to unwind. A large proportion of Sydney’s population, about 2 million people, live in the Westerns Suburbs which is the largest geographic area of Sydney.

If you are single person, you could still find yourself a small flat around the Parramatta area for a few hundred thousand dollars. And, if you have a family, there is still land available where you can build your dream home. Although prices in Sydney are relatively high when compare to other cities in Australia, homes in the Western Suburbs of Sydney are still reasonably priced.

The road system is acceptable, however that is not the case during the peak hours on the major routes, especially to the city, where it is very congested in the mornings and the evenings. Travel times by car to Sydney City can be long during peak hours, and the toll roads during these times don’t help that much. It is a major advantage to buy a property near one of the train lines or bus routes, for ease of travel to and from the other regional centers and to the Sydney CBD. 

Parramatta is the regional centre of Western Sydney with a large number of office blocks and apartments. A number of companies have moved out of the Sydney CBD to the Parramatta CBD to take advantage of being closer to where their staff live. Many government offices and a very large Westfield shopping centre is also located in Parramatta, and close by, is the large Westfield Children’s Hospital. Many of Sydney’s industries are located in the west of Sydney.

The beautiful Blue Mountains is located on the western side of this region, and who can forget the Sydney Olympic Park in Homebush. The Western Suburbs of Sydney still offers homes at a reasonably  affordable price.
